Painted Asparagus Plumosa

Painted Asparagus Plumosa is fresh-cut plumosa fern that has been surface-painted, sold in 50-stem bunches at 45, 65 or 85 cm in 35 colours. Plumosa is the finest, most feathery green in the cooler — the soft lace texture that fills the gaps between blooms without adding weight — and because the fronds are so fine, paint reads as a wash of colour across them rather than a solid coat. It is a fresh product, so it needs water, and it is the one green here with a genuinely short life: expect five to ten days, and treat the paint as something that can transfer when wet. PetalDriven ships greenery farm-direct and overnight anywhere in the US with free shipping, at wholesale prices with no tax ID required.

Shipping Info

  • Free US shipping on every order.
  • Ships FedEx Priority Overnight for next-day delivery.
  • Delivery is available Tuesday through Friday.
  • Order to arrive two days before you need it. Painted foliage is fresh and needs a day in water to drink and settle before it goes into a design, and a Friday arrival leaves no working day to sort out a problem before a weekend event.
  • Arrives boxed and unarranged, with no signature required. Unpack the box flat and lift stems out individually rather than pulling a bunch by the tops.

Care and Processing Instructions

  1. Unbox and get the stems into water the same day. This is fresh foliage, not dried or preserved. Cut about an inch off each stem with a clean, sanitised blade and give it a minimum of two hours to drink before you arrange, somewhere with good airflow.
  2. Expect the colour to transfer, and plan for it. Dye and paint can come off onto hands, and FloraLife's own guidance is to keep dyed material away from clothing and tablecloths and to tell the customer the same. On a wedding that means painted stems do not touch a dress, a white linen or a cake board unless you have tested that exact colour wet.
  3. The water will change colour, and that is normal. Dye sits in the stems and leaches out, usually within a day of processing. Don't change the water or re-process the stems over it.
  4. Use an opaque container. Tinted water is visible through glass and will undo the look, and some containers stain. Keep painted stems in their own bucket — natural flowers sharing that water pick up a subtle tint of the dye.
  5. No metal or galvanised buckets, and no water that has been through a softener — the salt damages the foliage. Use flower food mixed to the label, and treated wood or plastic picks rather than bare wood.
  6. Strip any foliage that would sit below the waterline. Submerged leaves rot and foul the water for everything in the bucket.
  7. Don't mist painted foliage. Water on a painted surface beads, streaks and can lift the coating, and wet paint is when transfer happens.
  8. Keep it out of direct sun and away from heat and draughts. Sun fades painted colour faster than anything else, and metallics dull first.
  9. Expect slightly less life than the natural version of the same green. The salts and oils in dye can burn foliage a little, so a painted stem runs a few days shorter than an unpainted one. Nothing is wrong with your order if it does.

100% Satisfaction Guarantee

Every greenery order is backed by PetalDriven's 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. If your stems arrive damaged or in poor condition, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos and your order number, and we'll make it right with a refund or exchange.

Painted colour varies from stem to stem and between batches — paint is applied by hand to living foliage and never lands perfectly evenly, and that variation is part of the material rather than a defect. Colour transfer onto hands, fabric or surfaces is a property of painted stock, not a fault, and staining caused by it is not covered. Nor is damage from misting painted foliage or leaving it out of water.

Email info@petaldriven.com or call 1-888-738-2529. To qualify, follow the care instructions above. Claims submitted without photos or after the 48-hour window can't be accepted. See our full refund policy.

Your flowers will arrive in a floral box, wrapped up in a protective paper or plastic sleeve. Once you open the box:

  • First unwrap the flowers and give them some room to breathe. They’ve just made a long trip so don’t worry if they look like they’re a little sleepy- just think of how you would feel after getting off an international flight!
  • Have a bucket or vase with a few inches of water ready, and remove any foliage on the stems that might fall below the water line.
  • The next step is to cut the stems with floral shears or a sharp knife about 1 inch from the bottoms. It’s always best to cut them at an angle, so that the flowers have even more space to drink from- water is their best friend!
  • Then, simply place them in the water, and keep them indoors in a cool, dry place away from any heaters, air conditioning drafts, or direct sunlight and you’re ready to go!
  • We recommend allowing the flowers to hydrate for at least 4-6 hours before starting to work with them, but the more time the better.
  • Typically we recommend that our customers have their flowers arrive a few days prior to their event in order to give them the opportunity to hydrate and start to open so they can look perfect for showtime!

Your roses will arrive in a floral box, wrapped up in a protective cardboard or paper sleeve. Once you open the box:

  • For roses, we recommend keeping them in their cardboard during the first phase of hydration.
  • We recommend allowing the flowers to hydrate for at least 6-24 hours before removing the cardboard to work with them, but the more time the better.
  • Once they are removed from the packaging, gently remove any excess foliage, and begin to carefully peel off the outer "guard" petals of the roses, which can be identified by a thicker petal and possibly some green color toward the base of the petal.
  • Typically we recommend that our customers have their flowers arrive a few days prior to their event in order to give them the opportunity to hydrate and start to open so they can look perfect for showtime!

Succulents are surprisingly easy and fun to care for and propogate!

Your succulents will arrive in a floral box, wrapped with protective paper or bubble wrap.

For use as a rooted plant:

  • If you would like for your succulents to root, once removed from the box, place your succulents directly on any natural surface, such as soil, rocks, wood, moss, or just about anything else!
  • Next, give them a few spritzes of water from a spray bottle 2-3 times per week.
  • Within about a week or so, you will start to see roots beginning to poke out of the bottom of the succulent
  • Take a moment and congratulate yourself on becoming an official succulent grower!

If you are using your succulents in a floral design or bouquet, we recommend the pick method:

  • Turn your succulent upside down so that you can see the round base at the bottom
  • Take a sharp pointed pick like a bamboo skewer (or even a toothpick for smaller succulents) and line it up with the circular base at the bottom of the succulent
  • Applying some pressure, start twisting the pick into the base of the succulent so that you pierce the bottom and insert the pick firmly into the base of the succulent
  • Now that you've got your "succulent in a stick", you can insert it into any bouquet or floral design for a gorgeous desert chic look

Your greens will arrive in a floral box, and may be wrapped up in a protective paper or plastic sleeve. Once you open the box:

  • First unwrap the greens and give them some room to breathe.
It’s always best to cut them at an angle, so that the greens have even more space to drink from- water is their best friend!
  • Then, simply place them in the water, and keep them indoors in a cool, dry place away from any heaters, air conditioning drafts, or direct sunlight and you’re ready to go! We recommend allowing the greens to hydrate for at least 4-6 hours before starting to work with them, but the more time the better.
  • We typically recommend ordering your greens to arrive 2-3 days before your event, although since greens typically have a longer shelf life than flowers (7-14 days), you can also order them to be delivered earlier with no worries.

Your Dried Flowers will arrive ready to use. Please note that dried flowers can be extremely delicate and it is completely normal for some shedding to occur during shipment. Upon receiving your flowers please:

  • Do not place in water.
  • Handle with care.
  • Keep flowers out of direct sunlight and away from moisture.
