We ship our flowers on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to make sure that they arrive at your door as fresh as possible for delivery on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays*. If you’ve got a weekend event, we recommend ordering your flowers to be delivered on Wednesday or Thursday – that will give them the perfect amount of time to hydrate and begin opening so that by the time the weekend rolls around they are looking their best!

Maestro Amaryllis

Maestro is a hot pink amaryllis, sold in 15-stem boxes on 80 cm stems. Each stem carries three to four trumpet blooms that open in sequence off a single thick, hollow stalk, so one stem does the work of a small arrangement on its own. Maestro is hot pink and sits on 80 cm stems, the longest amaryllis in the range, which makes it the one for tall arrangements where the others would sit too low.   • Delivery is available Tuesday through Friday. We recommend Tuesday–Thursday, since a Friday arrival leaves no working day to sort out a problem before a weekend event.
  • Schedule delivery 4–5 days before your event. Amaryllis ships in tight bud and takes three to four days to open — longer than almost anything else we sell. Order it on the same timeline as your roses and it will still be closed on the day.
  • Stems ship with the heads protected. The stalks are hollow and snap under their own weight, so unpack the box flat and lift stems out one at a time rather than gripping a bunch by the tops.

Care and Processing Instructions

  1. Unbox as soon as it arrives and support each stem along its length as you lift it. An amaryllis stalk is a hollow tube carrying a heavy head, and it bends or cracks far more easily than its thickness suggests.
  2. Cut with a sharp blade, at an angle. Blunt shears crush a hollow stem flat and it never drinks properly after that.
  3. Fill the vase with only 2–3 inches of water. Deep water makes hollow amaryllis stems soften and split faster. Shallow water is what keeps them firm.
  4. Brace the stems from the inside. This is the trick florists use and it's the difference between an amaryllis that stands and one that folds: slide a thin bamboo cane, a wooden plant stake, a hyacinth stake or even a bamboo skewer up the hollow centre of the stem until it reaches the base of the flower head. The stem is naturally hollow, so it takes the cane without damage, and the head stops nodding immediately. Do this for any tall arrangement and for anything that has to travel.
  5. Expect the base to curl, and ignore it. The cut end splits and rolls back on itself within a day or two. That's normal on every amaryllis and it doesn't shorten the vase life. Shallow water reduces it.
  6. Watch for cracks higher up the stalk instead. Those are the ones that matter. If you see one, wrap it with clear waterproof tape or slip a rubber band over it to stop it spreading. Clear tape disappears in a glass vase.
  7. Keep stems indoors at room temperature, out of direct sun and away from heaters and air conditioning vents. Don't refrigerate.
  8. Change the water and recut every 2 to 3 days. Recutting also trims off the curled base and keeps the stem drinking.
  9. The blooms open in sequence rather than all at once, so a stem keeps changing over several days. Snip off each trumpet as it finishes to push energy into the ones still to come.

  • For roses, we recommend keeping them in their cardboard during the first phase of hydration.
  • Have a bucket or vase with a few inches of water ready, and remove any foliage on the stems that might fall below the water line.
  • The next step is to cut the stems with floral shears or a sharp knife about 1 inch from the bottoms. It’s always best to cut them at an angle, so that the flowers have even more space to drink from- water is their best friend!
  • Then, simply place them in the water, and keep them indoors in a cool, dry place away from any heaters, air conditioning drafts, or direct sunlight and you’re ready to go!
  • We recommend allowing the flowers to hydrate for at least 6-24 hours before removing the cardboard to work with them, but the more time the better.
  • Once they are removed from the packaging, gently remove any excess foliage, and begin to carefully peel off the outer "guard" petals of the roses, which can be identified by a thicker petal and possibly some green color toward the base of the petal.
  • Typically we recommend that our customers have their flowers arrive a few days prior to their event in order to give them the opportunity to hydrate and start to open so they can look perfect for showtime!

Succulents are surprisingly easy and fun to care for and propogate!

Your succulents will arrive in a floral box, wrapped with protective paper or bubble wrap.

For use as a rooted plant:

  • If you would like for your succulents to root, once removed from the box, place your succulents directly on any natural surface, such as soil, rocks, wood, moss, or just about anything else!
  • Next, give them a few spritzes of water from a spray bottle 2-3 times per week.
  • Within about a week or so, you will start to see roots beginning to poke out of the bottom of the succulent
  • Take a moment and congratulate yourself on becoming an official succulent grower!

If you are using your succulents in a floral design or bouquet, we recommend the pick method:

  • Turn your succulent upside down so that you can see the round base at the bottom
  • Take a sharp pointed pick like a bamboo skewer (or even a toothpick for smaller succulents) and line it up with the circular base at the bottom of the succulent
  • Applying some pressure, start twisting the pick into the base of the succulent so that you pierce the bottom and insert the pick firmly into the base of the succulent
  • Now that you've got your "succulent in a stick", you can insert it into any bouquet or floral design for a gorgeous desert chic look
